SNOW!

It snowed last night. This was the first time Wendall has ever seen snow falling from the sky. He saw the snow through the windshield of the car and said "Is that snow?". He was so happy when we said that it was. It is mostly gone now, but we have promised it will return. Posted by Picasa

Rosa Parks

Rosa
by Rita Dove

How she sat there,
the time right inside a place
so wrong it was ready.

That trim name with
its dream of a bench
to rest on. Her sensible coat.

Doing nothing was the doing:
the clean flame of her gaze
carved by a camera flash.

How she stood up
when they bent down to retrieve
her purse. That courtesy.

Ah, New York, I missed you

We stopped at a small McDonald's to grab a snack for the boy, and we were trated to an afternoon concert by this lovely man. He played beautifully, and I thanked him on our way to the door. Wonderful! Posted by Picasa

Breathe in the White Castley Goodness

YUM!

So we went to NYC yesterday, did a bunch of walking and people watching. The menu for the day was White Castle, sushi, and a slice of pizza. Can't ask for better than that! Posted by Picasa
